Also known as Fernet & Coke, in 2020, it became the first Argentine drink recognized as an IBA official cocktail. It’s a cultural icon of the country and a classic pregame drink.
Rumored it was invented in the 1970s in the province of Cordoba by a famous musician, Oscar Becerra, when as he had no soda water to mix his Fernet, he added Coke.
Its classic presentation consists of cutting the top half of an empty two-liter bottle of Coke with scissors before burning the freshly cut border with a lighter to smooth its sharp edge.
How much is a shot?
How much is a dash?
A small amount, also known as a splash, or about a full dropper. In our portions, five dashes are equal to one teaspoon.
What difference does it make to shake or stir?
Shaking produces a higher dilution, recommended when the recipe includes fruit juices, simple syrup, cream liqueurs, sour mix, egg, or dairy. Stir when less dilution is desired and ingredients include only spirits, tonics, or bitters.
